In an emergency requiring the police, firefighters or other emergency personnel, find a phone and dial 911. The operator will want to know your location and the emergency. Dialing 911 will connect you with an emergency operator who can assess your situation and either send the appropriate emergency personnel to you or connect you to them. By dialing 911, you can reach the fire department, the police, or an ambulance.
